Family attractions

Dubai is a city that likes to show off. It boasts the world’s tallest building and largest shopping mall, which houses the world’s second largest aquarium.

You’ll stare up at skyscrapers and cruise along waterways past palm-shaped islands, unable to believe that you’re on the edge of a vast desert. It’s a great place for a family holiday. There’s a range of activities to keep kids busy and an array of luxury resorts to take care of your every whim.

Our hotels are located in Downtown Dubai so there are a host of activities for all of the family very close by.

Dubai Mall

Dubai Mall is the world’s largest shopping complex and is located just a few minutes from our Dubai hotels. Selling everything from bargain basement to bling it houses a massive gold souk, an Olympic size ice rink, and a 22 screen Cineplex. A day of shopping is a must for every visitor. Take advantage of our daily complimentary shuttle service running throughout each day!

Kidzania

KidZania is one of Dubai’s most famous family activity centres and is also located just a few minutes from our hotels. Kidzania provides children and their parents a safe, unique and very realistic educational environment that allows kids between the ages of four to sixteen to do what comes naturally to them; role-playing by mimicking activities done by adults in real life. From police officer to dentist to journalist, KidZania Dubai offers over 80 role-playing activities in more than 60 establishments with a range of ease and intricacy to meet the abilities and interests of every child.

Kids work to earn kidZos, KidZania's own currency, so they can pay for goods and services in the KidZania city. Pilots navigate airplanes, television anchors read the news, police officers perform detective work and chefs cook up tasty food.

KidZania is a complete city with a hospital, fire station, beauty salon, bank, radio station, supermarket, television station, pizzeria, theater, and much more. The 80,000 square foot city is scaled down two-thirds in height and therefore all facilities are designed to be 'just right' for children.

Dubai Aquarium

For kids, though, the mall offers something far more exciting. The 10 million litre Dubai Aquarium, which was the largest in the world until Georgia Aquarium opened in 2005, has 140 species of aquatic animals, including sharks, rays and penguins. Your Kids and adults alike will be fascinated by this spectacle and don’t forget to feed the Sting Ray!

Dubai Underwater Zoo

Our Dubai Hotels are also just located a few minutes from Dubai Underwater Zoo. See the King Croc as well as many other fascinating under water reptiles. Measuring 5 meters in length and weighing 750kg this crocodile has arrived in the Zoo and is waiting for you to come and visit!

Experience a glass bottom boat ride where you can ride on the surface of the world’s largest suspended tank containing 10 million litres of water. Enjoy a bird’s eye view of over 33,000 aquatic animals comprised of 33 different species including sharks! Just sit back relax and enjoy your guided tour.

Burj Khalifa

While you’re in downtown Dubai just a few minutes from our hotels be sure to take a trip with your family to the top of the magnificent Burj Khalifa which is the tallest tower in the world. It takes just 60 seconds to ride up to the 124th floor and the views of this extraordinary city as the lift door opens are thrilling.

Family Desert Safari and Park

If camel-riding tempts you and the kids, have a go yourself. The easiest option is to do it at Mushrif Park, a 20-minute drive from our hotels (past the airport). Mushrif Park is the only park in Dubai, which is so big that you can actually drive through it. It is an excellent place for families who love to walk in big outdoor spaces, away from regular hustle-bustle. Apart from the international village which houses child-sized traditional structures from across the world, there is a large aviary, housing peacock, fancy pigeons, and other birds, not to mention the fluffy rabbits... There is also a petting zoo and a stable, where children can participate and take riding lessons, riding Arabians horses around in a paddock, as they practice their trotting. This is a great place for family picnics, and strolls under shady trees.

The more adventurous of you can try riding a camel on a desert safari, which includes driving over the dunes in 4x4s enjoying an Arabic BBQ, watching a performance of music and belly-dancing and sleeping under the stars in a Bedouin tent. ‘Sand-skiing’ down the dunes, using surfboards, and horse-riding in the desert are also available.

Dubai Double Decker Bus Tour

Leap aboard a double-decker bus – a good way to get an overview of the sights, especially for those families with little kids in tow. Hop-on hop-off tickets include a Creek cruise and entry to the Dubai Museum (within the city’s oldest building, with displays on everything from date farms to pearl diving) and Sheikh Saeed’s House (the residence of the former ruler, now hosting history exhibitions).

Souk Tour

Explore the atmospheric souks (Arabic markets) & especially the colourful, aromatic spice souk and the glittering gold souk. They’re on both sides of the historic waterway, the Creek, which you can cross in an abra (wooden taxi-boat) admiring the old wind-towers and the contrast between the traditional and the spanking-new architecture. (Organised Creek Tours are also available). These are a definite recommendation for all the family and at AED1 to cross in an abra it definite is a worthwhile experience!
