Popularly called as New Dubai, the Dubai Marina stretches between the Jebel Ali Port and the Madinat Jumeirah. It is metaphorically and geographically positioned at the epicentre of the city. Currently still under construction and undergoing numerous changes, the whole new area in the city consists of office blocks and high-rise apartments surrounding the yacht marina. Stay at any of the apartments and suites of DAMAC Maison to enjoy the beautiful sea view. This property proves that even an artificially designed beachfront is an excellent space for tourists to relax and unwind in along the Gulf's edge.
Shop at the Mall of Emirates
One of the Dubai Marina things to do is to explore the huge shopping centre called the Mall of Emirates, which consists of over 500 stores. This includes its own branch of London's most favourite designer shop, Harvey Nichols. The Dubai Marina Mall is every shopaholic's paradise. To keep its visitors contained and entertained at all times, the mall plays home to a big food court, a bowling alley, a cinema with leather upholstered seating and myriad of marvels for children.
Apart from the elegant Dubai Marina Mall restaurants, visitors have access to the polemic Ski Dubai Snow Park, which is open throughout the year. You can toboggan, ski, make snowmen and have a snowball fight, while also enjoying a Black Run. The mall boasts of the Community Arts and Theatre Centre, which regularly host plays, musicals, concerts, children's shows, opera and other art-related events. You can choose to relax at the library or the café, which is positioned quite closely to the exhibition space.
A lovely walk along the Dubai Marina
With breath-taking views of the yachts, high-rises and also the Arabian Gulf, the Dubai Marina Walk is the perfect spot for a pleasant evening stroll. During the evenings, the skyline is lit up like giant lanterns and makes for a lovely sight, especially when viewed from the waters, while aboard one of the Dubai Marina boat trips. You can sign up for one of the tours arranged by the DAMAC Maison and explore the beauty of the development.
A boulevard of activities
The Marina Walk is quite an attractive boulevard, located around the ground level of the Marina Towers. It consists of a good selection of popular hotels near Dubai Marina, bars, restaurants, and cafes, providing a great view of the waterfront. If you want to try out the much-coveted shisha or water pipe, you can do so at the cafés while enjoying the ambience of the emerald waters. Visit the Marina Market, which is reputed for supporting the local crafts and artisans, and buy a few souvenirs to take back home.
The marina is also home to the tallest twisted tower in the world called the Cayan Tower, which was opened to the public in 2013. The city tours in Dubai take you to Dubai Marina and ensure you taste all of the local flavours of this settlement.
